Over in the Dunlop stand, in Goodwood’s courtyard, half a dozen large originals hang. There’s also a huge poster of the Dunlop sponsored Ferrari F430Gt Le Mans racer. This is the subject of the latest of Ian’s commission.
The unfinished canvas is set to one side as a red Nissan GT-R gets it’s final touches. All that paint needs to dry before details like lights are added towards completion. He’ll return to the Ferrari shortly. We interrupt Ian in mid flow for some portraits and a few sound bites. He is a true professional, doesn’t lose the flow of his work and genuinely enjoys the questions and quips from the public.
Listen to Ian Cook explain…..
YW: What’s your name and what do you do?
YW: How did you get into painting with radio controlled cars?
YW: Clearly you didn’t follow your girlfriend’s advice?!
YW: Have you painted any yellow cars?!
